What is PrintIT! Scotland?
PrintIT! Scotland is a major vocational initiative aimed at supporting teachers of Standard Grade Graphic Communication in delivering a dynamic, curriculum mapped, print-centric, resourced competition to students throughout the Standard Grade Graphic Communication Course. These teaching units have been designed to satisfy criteria in the Illustration & Presentation elements of the course and competition entries can be used in the IP portfolio.
PrintIT! Scotland is run by Proskills, the employer-led sector skills council responsible for the UK printing industry and is supported by many of the largest companies in the industry. To ease the burden on teachers, the comprehensive teaching pack supplied to all participating schools includes a series of prepared, step-by-step lesson plans. Fully interactive multi-media software with downloadable documents and interactive presentations is also available.
Experienced Scottish teachers have been working with PrintIT! Scotland to develop the lesson plans and teaching materials, to ensure that it is mapped closely with the curriculum for the Standard Grade Graphic Communication Course and that all teaching aids are pre-prepared and user friendly.
